Debbie North is passionate about creating a countryside without barriers. She is founder of Access the Dales, a charity which breaks down the barriers that prevent people with limited mobility enjoying the great outdoors, either independently or with their friends and family.
Since becoming a wheelchair user, Debbie has campaigned tirelessly to break down barriers in all aspects of promoting accessibility for all. She is a motivational speaker, a consultant, presenter and writer and is a Get Outside Champion for Ordnance Survey and an ambassador for Ramblers UK. She was appointed by the Cabinet Office as Disability and Access Ambassador for the Countryside.
Debbie has recently supported the Countryside Code team at Natural England by creating a new resource, autism friendly versions of the Countryside Code which you can download from our Resources and Activities page.
