GLOUCESTERSHIRE WARWICKSHIRE STEAM RAILWAY OPENING TO BROADWAY - 30 MARCH TO 2 APRIL 2018
After 58 years public train services will again run to Broadway Station! Thanks to the tireless work of the railways' volunteers over many years we are delighted to open a further stretch of our line so you will be able to travel over 14 miles from the historic village of Broadway all the way to our Race Course Station at the town of Cheltenham
To add to your enjoyment on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday, we are pleased to announce that most of our steam and diesel owners groups and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust will have stalls in our brand new Tim Mitchell building on platform 1 at Winchcombe Station. The model railway and our Discovery Coach will be also open at Winchcombe station and the Narrow Gauge Railway and shop will be open at Toddington station from Good Friday through to Easter Monday. Make sure you fit in time during the day to get off at these intermediate stations to have a look before catching a later train.
Over these 4 special days we will be running an intensive timetable with hourly departures from Cheltenham and Broadway. Trains will not be calling at Gotherington or Hayles Abbey Halt during this period. You can download the timetable from here.
See website for more details including how to purchase tickets to travel on these trains.
THERE WILL BE NO GENERAL PUBLIC PARKING AT BROADWAY STATION ITSELF. The nearest car park is a pay and display 10 minutes walk away.
We have however arranged for a complimentary classic Routemaster bus to run between the centre of the village and the station every 20 minutes. The first bus will depart from the War Memorial (close to the High Street car park) in the centre of the village at 09:00, and from the Milestone Ground car park in the Childswickham Road at 09:05. The bus will arrive at the station 5 minutes later and repeat the journey every 20 minutes throughout the day. This will give every visitor, whether joining the train at Broadway or one of our other stations, an opportunity to savour the delights of this Cotswolds village. (Please note we can’t accept any liability for this service)
