Signage Accessibility - Tarleton Lock to Pier Head, Liverpool

We are aiming to make all aspects of our project more accessible, including our signage

Sometimes when you’re exploring the great outdoors, you come across large signs with lots of information on which can sometimes be hard to see or digest.

Whilst most of our information panels are installed at an optimum height and angle for accessibility, this does not cover all bases, such as making information available to path users such as neurodivergent or visually impaired people.

On some of these signs, you will find QR codes with Braille stickers also marking their location. You can scan the codes to access the text from each individual sign, and use your mobile phone’s screen reading technology to listen to the text.

Some of these signs feature information about the places you’re exploring and what you might find, see or hear. Some of them contain essential information about safety for people and wildlife, and where you can and can’t go.

If you’re worried about phone signal or battery en route, or would simply like to plan ahead, you can also browse the signs in advance, using the links below.

These signs are currently being trialled on the Silecroft and Millom area in south west Cumbria, and between Tarleton in Lancashire and Liverpool, but we will hopefully expand this in due course.
