Sign 12: RSPB Marshside car park

England Coast Path – Welcome to Marshside

Behind you sits the new England Coast Path – a 2,700 mile National Trail opening in stages around the country.

Where can I walk?

To keep you safe from hidden hazards, and to protect the special wildlife on this RSPB nature reserve, no new Coastal Access rights exist on the marsh either side of the old sand-winning track ahead. Please stick to the track, keep dogs on a lead – and always bag, take and bin their poo.

What is ‘Coastal Access’?

A new legal access right to walk on the England Coast Path, and sometimes the ‘Coastal Margin’ between the trail and the sea. Signs will tell you where Coastal Access rights do not apply.

In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. You are at grid ref SD352205 at RSPB Marshside.
