A New Pilgrim Route along the Thames Path

10th September 2014

The 104-mile Thames Pilgrim Way is a brand new pilgrim route running through the heart of the Diocese of Oxford, which covers the three counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. This month the Rt Revd John Pritchard will inaugurate the route with a ten-day pilgrimage, marking the end of his ministry as Bishop of Oxford. The intention is that the route should exist in perpetuity – so that walkers of this part of the Thames Path can experience a different dimension to a much-loved and well-trodden route.

On Thursday 18 September, pilgrims will be setting out on the pilgrimage from Radcot, where the Thames flows into Oxford Diocese from Gloucester, some people will walk the whole route, others will join for occasional days. The pilgrimage is open to everyone. For the purposes of refreshments, if you are hoping to join the Pligrimage in September please contact Revd Graham Sykes (01865 208221).
