Final phase of new cycle path construction between Petersfield and QECP starts

28th September 2015

The final phase of a new cycle route connecting Petersfield with Queen Elizabeth Country Park and the South Downs Way is now underway. The good news is that once complete a new safe dedicated cycle path will exist to connect people to and from the South Downs Way to the centre of Petersfield, where you can find, food, accommodation and main line railway services. The work which is underway now is expected to last until Christmas.

The construction work will require the entrance road to QECP to have traffic lights and SDW users will at times have to use the same access road. Traffic will be controlled to allow safe passage of walkers, cyclists and equestrians. Please take extra care during these works and take notice of site safety staff.

The project is a partnership between Highways England, Forestry Commission, Hampshire County Council and the South Downs National Park Authority.
