Green fields and blue skies on the South Downs Way

February 2014

20th February 2014

It's time to start planning your next trip.

I thought December and January were wet but this month the rain has still kept falling, but a little rain doesn’t stop us. We’ve been out installing new gates and new signposts, cutting back dozens of trees and branches that have come down in the winds and drinking occasional cups of tea.

A couple of weeks ago I saw the first snowdrops in flower and last week the first daffodils flowered in my garden. This surely means that spring is not far away and more and more people at starting to plan tips on the South Downs Way.

Our lovely website recently revamped by our partners “Walk Unlimited” is a great tool for planning future trips to this and all the other National Trails, however a key element is your input. The great interactive map can show photos you’ve uploaded, accommodation and tea rooms and pubs etc. can add their own details. So if you know of a great place to stop, tell people about it and add it to our site. If you’re organising an event you can also add these too. So what are you waiting for get adding your own content by clicking here or see the link to the left of the interactive map.

You can also send in any problems you’ve encountered using our interactive map.

If you’ve finished the SDW you can still get a free certificate of completion. Click here and fill in our survey monkey feedback to get your certificate. You can also find the link to the certificate in the frequently asked questions in the Trail information section of the website.

So get planning your next trip, send us your photos and feedback and get adding to this ever increasing resource.
