North Pennines Walking Festival

17th July 2015

The North Pennines Walking Festival, this year from 26th September to 4th October, was initiated by the Friends of the North Pennines in 2013 and is run by enthusiastic local volunteers who want to share their love of the area with you.

This year’s festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the epic Pennine Way National Trail.

A large part of the Pennine Way is within the North Pennines AONB and nine of the 28 walks on offer will include 93 miles of this legendary route from Tan Hill  through Middleton in Teesdale, Alston and the South Tyne Valley to Greenhead on the Roman Wall.
