New sign at the Aiggin Stone

18th May 2015

Volunteers from the Peak and Northern Footopath Society have recently installed a new signpost on the Pennine Way near the famous Aiggin Stone close to the West Yorkshire/Manchester border. The sign is been dedicated to John Needham, former president of the Pennine Way Association and life-long supporter of the Trail.

The Aiggin Stone is most likley an ancient boundary stone marking the county boundary and is about 600 years old. The the new sign is only days old, but will be invaluable to walkers navigating their way around this fascinating area.
