A dramatic cliff face on Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

A family day on the trail

4th June 2015

Half term arrived and we went to the National Trail between Blakeney and Morston for the family constitutional walk.

The weather was really quite blowy and we struggled against the wind starting at Blakeney and walking through to Morston. The Environment Agency have been carrying out some surface works on the flood bank and the surface was fantastic and being enjoyed by many other families making the trip.

I had met with Natural England earlier that week to look at coastal access and to realign the route to be the best for our users and looking at the surface and the use the path was getting, it was fantastic to see. I stopped and discussed with the path users the improvements and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

We will look to improve a couple of very short areas and then get this whole stretch audited for disabled access.

A great day of easy walking….
