A dramatic cliff face on Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

A busy week on the National Trail!

6th October 2015

Last week was a very busy one for the national trail in Norfolk

On Tuesday the Peddars way and Norfolk coast Path hosted a meeting of the national trails officers from across the country last Tuesday and Wednesday in Cromer. The first day was a meeting which covered a number of issues facing national trails including managing events and the content on the website.

The second day there was a walk for the national trail officers to look at the new sections of coastal access that have been delivered during 2014. This was to show the officers how the route has been realigned to be closer to the sea and afford better views of the sea from all sections of the route.

Since the national trail has changed from the old route to follow the new section which is closer to the sea the old “roman camp” loop has not been promoted. As part of the Explore More Coast project that is running from Weybourne through to Hopton on Sea to mirror the new stretches of coastal access that will be created this was identified as being one of the new circular walks that could be created and new signage was installed last week.

On Wednesday last week we held our quarterly national trail partnership meeting which covered a number of different issues including The national trail development plan. This is due to be agreed in December and will then be subsequently published on our website.
