Trail steps up a gear for Tour of Britain cycle race

12th August 2015

When: Thursday 10th September 2015; stage 5 of the tour from Prudhoe in Northumberland to Hartside summit near Alston in Cumbria

Where: the minor road in Cumbria between Birdoswald Roman Fort and Banks village

How: the Trail itself uses short sections of the road from where you will witness the race first hand

Information for spectators: Hadrian's Wall Path is a FOOTPATH only.  For very good conservation reasons it was designated, and it is managed, as a footpath. The only sections where you may cycle the Trail are in Newcastle along the 12 mile multi-use tarmac-surfaced route between Wallsend and Newburn, also a short section in the parkland in Carlisle.

We will post here any other inormation and instructions from the organisers just as soon as we receive it

The route: go to the Tour of Britain website:  http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/stages/stage5/index.php#.VcrvY7Yy135
