This classic circuit of just under 8 miles covers some outstanding countryside on the beautiful coastal Cleveland Way/ King Charles III England Coast Path with a return on the popular Cinder Track. Outstanding views are very much a feature, especially from historic Ravenscar across the beautiful Bay towards Robin Hood’s Bay.

As it is part of the YHA Festival of Walking - there is a free cuppa and cake when we return to YHA Boggle Hole!

This is a classic walk that demands a reasonable level of fitness.  It takes in some wonderful coastal scenery as we stretch our legs out of Boggle Hole and head up along the Cleveland Way/ King Charles III England Coast Path towards Ravenscar.  On our way we pass through the Peak Alum works – there is a fascinating story to be told here!  Ravenscar itself has even more interest as the “Town that never was” and we can drop in at the small National Trust Centre here where people can grab a drink/snack before we head on towards the Cinder Track.

The Cinder Track is our return route all the way to Robin Hoods Bay.  It commands outstanding views across the Bay and as a former railway line makes the return a steady descent. As we drop down into Robin Hoods Bay we rejoin the Cleveland Way for a last little rise and fall, dropping down to the beautiful tucked away Boggle Hole Youth Hostel.

The walk has no stiles, but it does have a number of steps.  Dogs are welcome but must stay on a short lead at all times.  Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult and be physically able to do the walk.

Please note parking is not available right at the hostel, but nearby for free a few hundred metres away at What3words//incur.either.hidden
