Join Ordnance Survey GetOutside Champion Andrew White for a walk along part of the epic Cleveland Way as part of National GetOutside Day.
The walk is 4.5 miles between the coastal villages of Runswick and Staithes in North Yorkshire, with Andrew - who is also the presenter of the TV series Walks Around Britain and is from Yorkshire too - providing fascinating stories about the area's history, heritage and landscape.
The walk is a linear route and so the meeting point is at the end at Staithes. Meet in the car park on Staithes Lane, and then the group will all take the X4 bus from Staithes to Runswick Bay to start the walk. The walk then will end at the car park in Staithes.
This walk is on the well-maintained footpath of the Cleveland Way National Trail, but does contain steep hills.
The walk is free, but be aware parking in Bank Top car park in Staithes is £6 for 24 hours. Also, there is a charge for the normal service bus to Runswick Bay - but as a special offer to National GetOutside Day walkers, Arriva North East will provide North East Regionwide Day Ticket for £4 instead of £8. Details of how to get the discounted ticket will be made available after registation. If you live in the Arriva North East region, you could leave the car at home and make all the journeys by bus.
To ensure safety and a great experience for everyone, Andrew will be only taking up to 25 people on the walk.
