Newly created saltmarsh and freshwater habitats over hundreds of hectares of the Steart Peninsula are already attracting thousands of waders and wildfowl, particularly in the winter.  Managed by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, the site is also a haven for other creatures including deer, dragonfly, hare, otter and grazing animals. There are well signposted and accessible paths, three hides, ponds, islands and toilets. Dogs are welcome on most paths but must be kept under close control at all times.
