The custom route elevation is created when you use the distance calculator (above) to draw a line.

A dry valley with an unusually high number of Juniper bushes growing in grassland that supports native chalk plants and insects. A section of Grim's Ditch crosses through the area. The valley is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The valley is privately owned but access on foot is permitted because it is an area of Open Access Land. There is a gate into the valley at the northwestern tip of the Open Access Land, off the byway. There is no parking adjacent to the site or on-site so access should be on foot.
