The Top of the Wolds 10k Challenge is a scenic, rural race around Nunburnholme Wold in East Yorkshire.
Starting from the attractive Village of Warter, which is best noted for its much photographed row of thatched cottages, thatch being a most unusual roof covering on the Wolds.
The race route heads out along scenic rural lanes, towards the village of Nunburnholme, which forms part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way.
Take a left turn to climb Nunburnholme Hill, and enjoy the fruits of your labour at the summit, with the spectacular and far-reaching views.
Have a well-earned drink at the half way stage, before leaving the road and hitting the Bridleway trail, descending through the Woodland section.
Finally, as you emerge into the sunlight (it’s June, fingers crossed) take a right turn and return to Warter village and the finish line.
