30th anniversary

The North Downs Way celebrated   its 30th anniversary last year.  There was a special birthday event  held at Withersdane Hall near Wye on September 13th. There was an excellent  series of guided walks and 2  Guinness World Record attempts - simultaneous cartwheels and snails on a human face !  Although we failed to break a world record a good time was had by all and we were blessed with wondeful weather on the day.   We had a good turn out including lots of youngsters - hopefully they will be inspired to walk more of   the trail.  To find out more about the event please visit  www.ndwcelebration.org.uk

There was also  a special celebration event in Surrey on the same day where people enjoyed a walk around the Gatton  Park estate one in a series of North Downs Way circular walks followed by a tour of Reigate Fort.
