• The Argus South Downs Way Challenge Start: 9 May 2008 - 8:00am Location: Whole trail A unique oppertunity to cycle the entire South Downs Way, with support whilst raising money for the Argus Appeal.
• 100km Enduro Start: 10 May 2008 - 9:00am Location: Duncton An endurance bike ride of either 100km, 60km or 40km starting from Duncton and using part of the South Downs Way
• A Day on the Downs Start: 17 May 2008 - 11:00am Location: Devil's Dyke, Brighton A Day on the Downs - A healthy approach to the great outdoors.
  A weekend of activities, information and gudied walks and bike rides for all the family.
• 29th annual South Downs Way Walk Start: 6 June 2008 - 10:00am Location: Eastbourne to Winchester A traditional 9 day walk along the whole of the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Winchester suitable for all the family.
  Based on daily coach pick ups from a choice of places in West Sussex with return coach in the afternoon.
• PhotoPLOD Midnight Challenge Start: 13 June 2008 - 03:00pm Location: Steyning to Birling Gap An over night sponsered event walking 40 miles of the South Downs Way from Steyning to Birling Gap.
• British Heart Foundation Big Red Randonee Start: 28 June 2008 - 0:00am Location: Three start points offering 100, 65, and 35 miles A Sponsored cycling event in add of the British Heart Foundation along the whole of the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne.
• Trailwalker UK Start: 19 July 2008 - 9:00am Location: Queen Elizabeth County Park, near Petersfield to L A challenging 100km trek along the South Downs Way
• British Heart Foundation Big Red Randonee Start: 26 July 2008 - 0:00am Location: Whole route only 100 miles and 10,000 ft of climb A sponsored cycle ride along the South Downs Way in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
• Hike for Hospices Start: 16 August 2008 - 0:00am Location: Lewes to Goodwood A major sponsored walk for four local hospices, St Barnabas House, The Martlets Hospice, St Peter & James, and St Wilfrids Hospice - up to 2000 people expected to take part.
