In celebration of National Nature Reserves Week 2024, Natural England are holding a series of guided walks in the Wyre Forest to look at the wildlife and talk about some of our management practices.
This event will be hosted by the Natural England Reserve Managers and will comprise a gentle guided walk/talk around forest to look at aspects of the woodland, how we are tyring to manage the woodland for biodiversity and some of the challenges we face. During the walk we will discuss:
- Woodland succession.
- Coppicing.
- Woodland ride management.
- Timber production.
- Meadow and orchard management.
- Management for specific species.
- Key challenges for the forest.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the NNR staff, to find out a little bit more about the work that they do and have a chance to ask any questions.
*All are welcome and the cost is free; booking is essential. Please note due to the limited numbers we have set a limit of two tickets per booking.
If you have any questions or queries please get in touch by sending an email to wyreforest.nnr@naturalengland.org.uk
