Walk of the Month October

3rd October 2014

Here is your walk of the month for October.  It will be the last for the season, before we bring more back next year, so we hope you enjoy it.  For bus users it has been especially designed for anyone living in Driffield who can use the 135 EYMS service to get to Fridaythorpe

Discover art and the dry valleys near Fridaythorpe

The route is a superb chance to discover the dry valleys that are the unique and stunning features of the Yorkshire Wolds landscape.  At the same time there are two artworks that can be admired along the Way, both part of the WANDER art project.  The bus will drop you off right at the first art feature!  This is the walkers rest/bus shelter at Fridaythorpe, with its attractive design leading you through the shelter and down to the Village pond.  The second is the incredible earth spiral that makes up “Waves and Time”, nestling into a meeting point of several dry valleys

  • Distance: 7 miles (11km)
  • Duration: allow 4 to 4 1/2 hours
  • Difficulty: This is an moderate circular walk, with a few ups and downs but no major climbs
