A view across the river from the Thames Path

Regattas Festivals and Events

20th March 2015

Just a quick blog to let you know that one of our partner organisations The River Thames Society has produced a Festivals and Regattas 2015 what’s on and where programme. One of the big events this summer will be the Octocentenary of the Magna Carta in Runnymede.  The Runnymede site managed by the National Trust sits on the banks of the Thames just downstream of the County boundary with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Surrey, with the Thames Path passing straight through the site. To learn more about Runnymede and see what is planned please click National Trust Runnymede.

To learn more about what is happening up and down the Thames throughout the year then please click here! This is by no means an exclusive list, and if you have an event, festival or regatta you would like to publicise along the Thames, just visit our website and you can add your event online. If you require further information please contact us by email or call 01865 810224.

Alongside one-off events like the Magna Carta river pageant happening on June 13 and 14 there is, as always many international annual events such as The University Boat Race taking place on the 11th April, so if you are walking the trail around this time and wearing dark blue it will be assumed you are supporting Oxford, and if you are wearing light blue it will be assumed you are supporting the others who train on the River Cam!

If you would like to know more about The River Thames Society and how to join - then please click here.
