Volunteers complete Trail clearance near Pyecombe

31st October 2013

Volunteers from the South Downs Volunteer Ranger Service recently got into action clearing back an overgrown section of Trail near Pyecombe in West Sussex. It took the group of 8 volunteers 3 days to clear back a 250 metre section, which previously had been difficult to ride on horseback and becoming too narrow for people to easily pass each other.

South Downs Way National Trail Officer said "Our volunteers do an incredible job helping to maintain the Trail, it would simply not be possible without them. Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers. This completed work now means that the farmer can keep this section cut back using his tractor, saving time and allowing staff and volunteers to move on to other work."
