Surface improvements completed above Buriton

19th October 2017

No more wading through deep water on the South Downs Way above Buriton in Hampshire. The very deep water filled hole that had previously blocked the whole width of the track is now filled level and smooth. The works are just part of the on-going maintenance of the surface of the SDW that is always susceptible to damage from weather, vehicles and general wear and tear.  This work is constant and costly, but the costs of this improvement as largely covered by a grant from Tesco’ “Bags of Help” fund. Thanks to all the shoppers from Petersfield Tesco who voted for this project, everyone can now enjoy an easy walk, or ride along this beautiful stretch of the South Downs Way and our stretched budget can now go a little further.
