Height Barrier installed at Jack & Jill Car Park

10th August 2015

Following repeated traveller encampments Mid Sussex District Council has decided to install a new height barrier to the entrance of Jack & Jill car park, just off the South Downs Way at Clayton, West Sussex. The barrier is expected to be in place by the end of August. The barrier will be at 2.1 metres and will therefore restrict access to the car park for mini-buses, vans and horse boxes and of course bikes on top of car roofs!!

2, 19 metre long bays have been reserved outside the height barrier for horseboxes, but turning space is severely restricted and is really only suitable for horse boxes rather then horse trailers.

If access to the car park with larger vehicles is required on a regular basis or for events, Mid Sussex District Council may be able to arrange access, via their landscape team.
