Car Break-ins at several rural car parks in West Sussex on the SDW

17th December 2018

We have had some unfortunate reports of car break-ins at three separate car parks along the South Downs Way recently in West Sussex. Several incidents of cars being broken into have been reported at Kithurst Hill, Chantry Post, Bignor Hill and Cocking Hill car parks whilst people have been out walking/cycling.

If you are planning on using rural car parks Sussex Police advise people to remove all valuables from their car and to leave their back/boot shelf open so the thieves can see that there is nothing of value inside.

We are currently working with West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police to try and combat the recent spate in rural crime at these locations.
