18 Jul 2015

Cycling event
Known to many as the toughest off-road ride in the UK, the seriously challenging South Downs Way Off-Road Bike Ride is not to be missed in 2015!
If you're an experienced off-road rider, make this event your next challenge and become part of an extra special group of heart heroes.
Choose from two routes; 35 miles or the ‘Big Daddy’ of 100 miles with a total climb of over 10,000ft. With both rides finishing by the seafront in Eastbourne everyone get's to experience elation of the same finish line!

The routes
The 100 mile long South Downs Way National Trail follows the old routes and driveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs. With breathtaking views along the entire route and a finish location right by the seafront in Eastbourne, this challenge is not to be missed.

100 miles – taking in the full length of the south downs, this epic challenge includes a total vertical climb of around 10,000ft!

35 miles – It may be shorter in distance but it still has a significant climb, and is a high intensity climb bike ride.
The trails aren't too technical, but there are a lot of fast long descents which do need some serious concentration.

This bike ride has been rated a Grade 3 or 5
