Iron Age hillfort, archaeology, woodland management and natural history.
This NT ranger led circular walk near Princes Risborough gives the opportunity to learn about and explore a well preserved hidden Iron Age hillfort, as well as the Grangelands and Rifle Range SSSI grassland sites. Admire views of the Chequers Estate and Kimble Warren, as well as the panorama across the Chiltern Escarpment and the Aylesbury Vale whilst hearing about local history, archaeology, and nature from your knowledgeable guides.

Difficulty Moderate (more challenging, for keen/active walkers)

National Trust car parking area on Cadsden Hill - at Lounsdown Hill, coming from Askett, or the Great Missenden to Butler's Cross road. The parking area is at the road side, it's quite clear as it is the only area that you can park on. Nearest postcode HP27 0NB but please note this is not exact. We will be making a prompt start so please arrive in time to park, change to walking boots etc.

Bring lunch and drink - we aim to have lunch on or near the hillfort. No toilet facilities.
