Virtual visitors welcome!

You can now walk the Pennine Way from the comfort of your armchair thanks to Google Street View!

Northumberland National Park staff and volunteers worked with the Google Trekker project earlier this year to capture images of the Pennine Way and other iconic sights in the National Park. After several months of processing these images are now freely available to view from anywhere. You can explore the Pennine Way from Kirk Yetholm to Hadrian's Wall, ascending the Cheviot and exploring Roman ruins along the way without getting your boots muddy!

An overview of the imagery is available here http://www.google.com/maps/streetview/#northumberland-national-park

If this inspires you to get out and see it for yourself, you can plan your visit here http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/pennine-way/plan
