Trail maintenance in Teesdale

8th August 2019

Maintenance works are planned for several locations along the Pennine Way in Teesdale in September 2019. These works will result in some temporary closures and delays in passing through some sections.

The historical Wynch bridge that crosses the River Tees from the Pennine Way to access Bowlees Visitor Centre will be closed for essential maintenance for 6-8 weeks from the 30th September. A signed diversion will be in place via Scoberry Bridge.

Repairs to the narrow, rocky path alongside Falcon Clints will be undertaken this autumn. A helicopter will be involved to transport materials to the site. The path will remain open, but there may be short delays for walkers passing through this section for safety reasons.

We hope that you will bear with us whilst these works are underway.
