#Best Trail Pub

21st December 2018

The National Trail Family has been using twitter to get recommendations for the best Pub on or near a National Trail #BestTrailPub.  Wherever you are in the country there will be a National Trail not far away; just look out for the Acorn. The Pennine Way starts and ends at a Pub.  The Old Nags Head at Edale and the Border Hotel at Kirk Yetholm and three pubs along the 268 mile route have been recommended on twitter:  the ‘Tan Hill Inn’ (www.tanhillinn.com) high on a lonely hill in the Yorkshire Dales, the highest pub in Britain, ‘The Cumberland Inn’ at Alston (www.cumberlandalston.co.uk) The highest town in England and ‘The Stag Inn’ at Dufton (www.thestagdufton.co.uk) close to Cross Fell the highest mountain in the Pennines.  So do get out there over the festive season and enjoy a walk and a pint.
