Grade II listed schoolhouse adjacent to the Pennine Way in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales in the picturesque village of Hardraw. Ideally placed for outdoor enthusiasts with many opportunities for caving, walking and cycling accessible locally. Family and group activities can be provided by prior arrangement. Both Helen and Andy are qualified outdoor leaders and offer introductions to caving, climbing, walking and gorge scrambling in the Yorkshire Dales. Dates and specific activities offered will be tailored to meet group requirements/experience. Technical instruction and more advanced caving days or training in navigational techniques can also be offered. Discounts are available for bunkhouse guests and independent groups can access information about the local area/outdoor activities.

Both individual and small group bookings can be made, or the bunkhouse can be hired for exclusive use by schools/societies/larger family groups. Single night bookings are accepted, although this is more likely to be available mid-week. 19 beds are split between 3 sleeping areas/dorms. (We aim to have 2 further bunkrooms, sleeping 6 and 3 persons, available very soon). There is a well-equipped kitchen, dining/lounge/teaching area (the old school hall), separate male and female toilets/wash/shower rooms, enclosed grass area and ample parking, Guests bring sleeping bags/duvets (pillows are provided). Towels can be supplied at an additional charge of £1.50pp. Dogs can be accommodated in outside kennel space by prior arrangement.

Hardraw is a tranquil Dales village with a lovely café, craft shop, felt studio and oldy worldy pub with good food and excellent real ales. A 1.5 mile walk along a limestone slabbed footpath (part of the Pennine Way) will bring you to the market town of Hawes with its creamery, rope factory and more numerous pubs and cafes.
