A dramatic cliff face on Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

Walk this way to attract more international visitors

24th April 2018

Businesses along the Norfolk Coast Path can benefit from a new tourism initiative to attract walkers from Germany, the Netherlands and the USA, thanks to £1m from Visit England’s £40 million Discover England Fund.
The funding will help develop 3 to 14-day walking itineraries that take visitors off the beaten track, into the heart of rural England. The walk is only half of the experience, as the itineraries will highlight places to visit, eat, drink and stay along the way.
Tourism businesses, from small B&Bs to large visitor attractions, are invited to register here today for the opportunity to be included in these itineraries and to benefit from a training programme, specially designed to meet the needs of your business and help prepare you to do business with overseas tour operators in the three key markets.

Training will include:

Welcoming walkers from Germany, the Netherlands and the US, with key insights, backed up by research, into how to meet their expectations to deliver a good experience.

Working with overseas tour operators to increase sales including pricing, lead-in times and booking expectations.

Multi-day walking itineraries – working with other businesses along the Norfolk Coast Path to meet the needs of walkers.

Tourism businesses interested in making strides in these markets need to register by April 25th to be invited to take part in 'England's Great Walking Trails' project.
