A dramatic cliff face on Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path

The next stretch of coastal access for Norfolk

19th January 2016

On Friday both myself and colleague Sharon Bland met with Natural England to look at the next stretch of coastal access to be considered between Hunstanton and King's Lynn.

One of the challenges of this new section of coastal access will be getting through the royal estate at Sandringham by providing both a high quality route and minimising impacts on the protected landscapes and residents in the area.

We looked from Snettisham through to King's Lynn and the potential access that could be created. Natural England will now start to pull together proposals and start discussions with landowners to decide on preferable routes and how access could be created.

The weather, as you can see from the pictures, was spectacular and Sharon and I experienced 4 seasons in 1 day leaving Norwich in a blizzard to reach Sandringham in brilliant sunshine, to go through a shower and mist on the way home.

The views across the wash on a stormy day were spectacular and this will add a real touch of wilderness to the coastal access in Norfolk.
