The Tree Hunter

11th December 2014

Rob Mcbride AKA The Tree Hunter , a passionate tree hunter and campaigner for ancient trees is out on his travels along the the Offa's Dyke Path again.  His mission is to log and record all the ancient trees along the Trail and nearby, as part of the Woodland Trust project to list all ancient trees in the UK visit http://www.ancient-tree-hunt.org.uk/

The Tree Hunter has started the next leg of his journey along the Trail this week from Knighton, its a massive undertaking with each tree he finds being measured and photographed and then added to the data base. You can see by the map images attached to this piece just how many ancient trees are out, just along the short stretch south of Knighton.

To find out more visit his website http://www.treehunter.co.uk/projects/proj-inner-2014/proj-offasdyke-ath.html or you can keep right up to date by following him on twitter @thetreehunter

You might even find that last minute Christmas present on his online shop of some fantastic images of trees from his travels.

Once he has finished his current section and is back in the office, I will try and get and update from him and share it via the trail officer blog.

Happy Tree Hunting and Merry Christmas Rob
