Meeting at Three Hills Sports Park the walk takes us through the urban fringes of Folkestone up onto the North Downs Way National Trail which runs along the hills from which the Sports Centre takes its name. The walk takes in the historic hamlet of Paddlesworth for which it is said “Highest Church, Lowest Steeple, Poorest Parish, Fewest People" with a refreshment break at The Cat and Custard Pot pub, a favourite of the fighter pilots and personnel involved in the Battle of Britain and the highest pub in Kent. The walk concludes via a winding route back down the chalk escarpment and through town back to Three Hills Sports Park. The walk along the National Trail will offer stunning views across Folkestone and across the English Channel, on a good day France will be visibile on the horizon. Other sections take in woodland, farmland and old railway/ industrial sites as well as villages on the route.
