Centurion Running Events on the Trail

30th August 2016

Good friends of the National Trails, Centurion Running hold 2 long distance challenge events on the trail- the NDW 50 held in May and NDW 100 in August. Centurion also holds events on South Downs Way and Thames Path National Trails- full details here: www.centurionrunning.com

On August 10th over 200 entrants attacked the arduous 100 mile event from Farnham to Ashford with an incredible 153 finishers. The men’s course record set in 2013 by Ed Catmur of 15hrs 44min seems scarcely believable, this year saw Debbie Martin-Consani set a new ladies course record in a time of 18:39 which is equally incredible. In May around 200 finishers completed the NDW 50 miles challenge from Farnham to Knockholt in the Kent Downs.

We work closely with the event organisers James Elson and his team to ensure the route is passable and in good shape for their events. After the event the course is swept by the organisers with litter collected; you’d never know they were here!

As with many of our Trail Events a small % of the race entry fee is donated back to the trail which enables us to maintain the trail for future events and the general public to enjoy. We’re very grateful for this support and look forward to next year’s events; details available here http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/north-downs-way/be-inspired
