Hedgelaying at Machynlleth

27th April 2015

We don't normally do projects like this, so the chance to be involved in having a hedge laid on The Roman Steps at Machynlleth has been a treat.

The Roman steps are cut directly from the bed rock and become very slippery in wet weather. They are cleaned off regularly but when the hedge leaves drop they become a real hazard. The hedge was last laid about fifteen years ago so it was high time some more attention was given to it.

Mr Berwyn Harding, of Aberangell, took on the task of laying this particularly difficult hedge and as you can see the result is fantastic. Many local people have made very appreciative comments on his wonderful work.
