John Clarke

Entered the Hall of Fame:4th October 2016
Trail Completed:25th September 2016

I hadn't heard of the Glyndwr's Way but a friend asked me if i fancied walking it with him so i looked it up on the National Trail website.

I was really surprised by how green and beautiful it was.  It passes through some stunning landscape. We passed through every type of landscape, moorlands, forests, past amazing lakes and reservoirs.

We took 12 days to do it but we took it at a fairly leisurely pace. You could do it more quickly, but it is very hilly  -  we often dropped into valleys and up and out the other side in the same day.

We camped along the way but also stayed in B&B's. We started at Knightpool and walked towards Welshpool. The only thing that could have improved it was the weather,  but we got 8 days out of 12 without rain so I suppose you can't complain !  We used a baggage transfer company which also helped.

I would definitely recommend this Trail to others.... so would Ralph our dog !
