The custom route elevation is created when you use the distance calculator (above) to draw a line.

Pen y Ghent - or the 'Hill of the Winds' is one of the most distinctive hills on the Pennine Way. Its also one of the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks. The shelter on the summit was recently re-built to give walkers better protection from the wind that often blows here! The approach from the south along the Pennine Way requires a steep scramble over rocks to reach the summit. The approach from the north, from Horton in Ribblesdale is a more gradual ascent.

A circular route can be followed from Horton in Ribblesdale.
