Monnow Bridge is the sole remaining medieval fortified river bridge in Britain where the gate tower stands actually on the bridge. The bridge crosses the River Monnow in the Welsh border market town of Monmouth.
Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth boasts a whole host of historical sites, people and buildings from the Nelson Garden to The Town Hall.
