Haverigg dunes: Walking with dogs

Dogs are very welcome on the England Coast Path!

However, in the field ahead:

Please keep dogs on the waymarked England Coast Path – not the surrounding land.

They must be on a lead at all times.

These are legal requirements to ensure the plants, wildlife and conservation-grazing cows and sheep, which make these dunes such a special place, can thrive.

You can bypass this section using the foreshore towards Haverigg or Silecroft.

In an emergency

Call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. You are at the southern edge of the Haverigg Bents dunes enclosure.

This A4 sized sign has a graphic illustration of a coastal scene in the background, with text in a white box in front, an illustration of a friendly golden retriever dog on a lead, and a line of logos along the bottom.
