Picture yourself in a village pub with one of the most spectacular views of the sea and beach in Norfolk, looking out across the Wash. Whether it’s a cool drink watching a summer sunset or enjoying a hearty meal for winter warmth, you’ll find it here at the Ancient Mariner Inn.
The pub is located in Hunstanton which is the only village on the east coast to face west. Its buildings date back to the 1600s. They were originally the barns and stable block for the adjacent house - now a delightful four star hotel. There are low beams, snug seating and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. Atmospheric, the pub has a fine collection of local nautical prints and regalia. You’ll also find a warm welcome, excellent food and drink and free High speed internet access.
Outside there is a well designed terrace, decking and children’s play area with lawns that lead down to sand dunes and the sea beyond. Sit out on a fine summer’s evening and watch rabbits and swifts - it's an idyllic setting for a drink and a meal.
Taking pride in its real pub atmosphere, there’s a programme of live music nights, quizzes and family events..
When it comes to food, there’s plenty to choose from at the Ancient Mariner Inn. Bar snacks are served throughout the day and a more formal lunch and dinner menu is served in the Sunset Restaurant with far-reaching sea views. Food is available every day from noon until 9pm.
