Join David and Kathy Howe to explore the far west of the North Pennines AONB on this circular walk from Brampton to Talkin via the Tarn and back along the River Gelt.

After meeting on public roads in The Sands area just to the east of the town, we will walk via The Dandy former railway branch to Talkin Tarn, Talkin village, Greenwell, River Gelt, Capon Tree, St Martin’s Church, and back to Brampton (route subject to change), exploring the geography and history of the area. You will need to be well-equipped for walking on this approximately eight mile route, bringing proper walking gear including boots/walking shoes, waterproofs, spare clothing, packed lunch and drink.

This event is part of the North Pennines Walking Festival.
