Underhill Farm is a simple eco venue with a campsite and a vareity of eco-accomodation and facilities.
It includes campsite, large camp barn, small bijou camp barn, yurt, tepee, gypsy caravan and tents for hire. Many of the facilities are built using recycled materials giving the place a facinating and unique character. Situated in a hidden valley under the limestone cliffs and the nesting perergines, this tranquil setting is a very special place for those loving nature and quiet relaxtion. The hosts, both foresters and ecologists, have lived and worked all over the world and run occaisional bespoke courses, family activities to explore nature as well as host bushcraft parties, and others. Most of the time however is a simple quiet campsite. Numbers are strickly controlled to maintain the ambience and open fires are allowed in certain places.
The farm has been an on-going renovation and conversion project for the Evison family since 2009. In this time the farm cottage which dates back to medieval times has been completely renovated and is now home to the Elliot family. The barns have also seen big changes moving from their past use for cattle breeding and milking, to a new future as a space for the Evison family, friends, volunteers and visitors to explore our relationship with the natural world. This ranges from growing food, fuel and fibre, to teaching and providing a space for activities and holidays. Now with a good sized smart communal teaching room (heated and cosy), indoor craft and activity facilities, a large central communal barn (unheated though!), two yurts, a large tepee, tents and camp barns the farm is really coming to life.
