Nearby, the historical village of Eyam, made famous by the outbreak of the plague, is home to a museum on local history and the plague inparticular. Castleton is 4 miles, whilst the Chestnut Centre, famous for its otters and deer, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Buxton and Matlock Bath are within easy reach. Shop 4 miles, pub less than 1 mile.
