Or maybe you could enjoy a day out on the Settle/Carlisle Railway or play Golf at nearby centres. Drive and explore the beautiful surrounding Dales and villages. Visit the Lake District, only a short drive away and see the many Castles, Abbeys and Stately Homes of the area.
Over thousands of years water erosion through the limestone has formed many amazing sights, such as Ingleborough Cave, which is festooned with stalactites and stalagmites, or Gaping Gill the most dramatic of North Yorkshire's pot holes where water hurtles down in a single jet over 365ft to the floor. An exotic collection of trees, bushes and plants, many of them brought from the East by Reginald Farrer, the botanist, can be seen by the lake at the top of the village and along the nature trail.
