Luxury guest suite with private entrance, located in an outbuilding within the grounds of a C16th Cotswold country house.
Newly converted guest suite, accessed via an external staircase, with it's own front door. The suite benefits from a double bedroom, tv /dvd player (selection of dvd's available on request), hanging space for clothes, comfy seating area, tea/coffee making facilities with a selection of herbal teas, fridge stocked with filtered water and organic milk, fruit basket and biscuits. There is an en-suite bathroom with walk in power shower and organic toiletries. Great for walkers looking for accommodation on the Cotswold Way, guests visiting friends and family, village wedding guests and couples looking for a relaxing country break.
We offer a light continental breakfast which we place in your room daily, comprising of a choice of cereals, croissants/pastries, jams and fresh fruit. The room also has a fridge, hot water heater and nespresso coffee machine for you to make your own hot drinks and store small snacks. We will provide milk, orange juice, yoghurts, butter and filtered water in the fridge for you aswell.
Only a few minutes walk away in the village there are plenty of options including The Falcon Pub or the award winning "The Painswick" Hotel which both offer a Full English breakfast between 8-10am. We are happy to book these for you on request. For those that rise a little later, there is the exquisite St Michael's bistro open for brunch from 10.30am most days apart from Sunday, where they offer a roast dinner.
The suite is within walking distance (uphill for part of the way) of Painswick village centre and the famous St Mary's Church, known for it's 99 yew trees and tabletop tombs, a photographer’s dream. Legend has it that the Devil won’t let a hundredth tree grow.
Painswick, known as ‘The Queen of the Cotswolds’ nestles into the hillside and is characterised by beautiful honey coloured stone buildings, dating back to the C15th. Painswick is also home to the country’s oldest bowling green.

Sitting halfway along the Cotswold Way, the village is surrounded by uplifting countryside and a great base for walkers. There are great views across the Severn Valley to the Welsh mountains from the Painswick Beacon. If you prefer to travel by bike, there are many options to hire electric bikes from nearby Stroud.
Painswick was chosen as a location for the BBC TV adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s "The Casual Vacancy".
Things to do in Painswick include exploring the narrow streets, to unearth some fascinating galleries and shops. Friendly pubs serve locally-brewed ales and there are some excellent cafes and restaurants and of course the award winning "Painswick Hotel" where you can get a great cocktail or afternoon tea.
Events in Painswick include an annual village Easter Egg hunt, the Arts Festival and the Art Couture Painswick Festival. This festival brings the world of wearable art to life and adds a riot of colour to the churchyard and surrounding streets.
