Castlemead is probably one of the most superbly situated small Hotels in West Wales. Nestling at the head of a small wooded valley, Castlemead is set in 1/2 acre of mature grounds & lawns with extensive views across Manorbier Bay, the Norman Church and Castle. Here we offer a gloriously quiet, relaxing atmosphere in the heart of the village yet just a "stones throw" from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and a short stroll to our Blue Flag Beach. Formerly a Gentlemans residence, now a 4 star restaurant with 9 pleasant guest bedrooms, with different views, sizes & costs, all provide the expected comfortable facilities. Castlemead is an ideal base for those walking the coastal path. We are dog friendly and have storage areas for kayaks, canoes or surf boards. ***** awarded 4 stars by the AA and Visit Wales, Castlemead offers a daily changing menu using local seasonal produce whenever possible. Holders of the Pembrokeshire Produce Marquee all our fresh fish comes from Milford Haven Port & meat from the Prescelis. All diets are carefully catered for, prior knowledge of requirements is always helpful. Little ones, with early suppers, often outside on the lawn offering a small healthy eating choice of meals are always popular. The ambience of the restaurant changes with the seasons, in the summer months alfresco dining or drinks on the lawn whilst perusing the menu, in chillier times before a roaring fire or tucked in the cosy bar, it is a place for all seasons. awarded 5 stars by Pembrokeshire Council for food handling processes & safety 6 years in a row. ***** An elegant lounge with a working victorian fireplace and snug sun room with glorious views are the ideal place to relax and unwind. The cosy bar adjoins the restaurant, admire the miscellania, make friends, chat and have a drink. Wifi access is available in this area ***** With views to die for! Rolling lawns with views straight across Manorbier Bay to the sandy beach of Barafundle/ Flanked on the left by an imposing Norman church. On the right the fabulous Manorbier Castle, the view ever changing and always stunning. Guests have exclusive use of the garden during daytime, and during the evenings in the summer months we serve dinner outside, weather permitting ***** We have 9 guest bedrooms, all ensuite with telephones, courtesy trays and flat screen TVs. Due to the history of the building they vary greatly in aspect and size. Sea view rooms are always at a premium, and tend to be larger and get booked earlier. This is reflected in the tariffs we charge. We endeavour always to ensure that those guests whom do not benefit from a sea view in their room have a prime seat in the restaurant to soak up the view. Family rooms are available and the coach house rooms with their own front door are ideal for guests whom wish to bring their dogs, or those whom find stairs difficult.
