Dr. Geeta Ludhra works as a lecturer in Education at Brunel University, West London. Alongside her academic role, she holds a Secretary of State voluntary position, as a Chilterns Conservation Board Member for the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), appointed by DEFRA. Geeta runs a non-profit, registered social enterprise called Dadima’s CIC, and this was set up to encourage people from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic communities (those groups who are statistically under-represented in UK natural landscapes) to access, engage in, and enjoy the benefits of national parks, green spaces more broadly and the countryside. This family-run walking group has a scheduled programme of events and themes for each month, and promotes intergenerational connections through walking and talking, sharing heritage stories and nature knowledge. Geeta promotes the Countryside Code at the start of each walk, and it is embedded into the work she does in outdoor spaces.
